   Any variety of microcrystalline, coralloid or botryoidal calcite deposit that is distinguished by curved outer surfaces and curved internal structures. Large examples, including clouds, are formed under water. Smaller varieties, also known as cave coral and cave popcorn, are splash deposits, or are precipitated onto cave passage walls from mists or thin surface films of saturated water [9].
